Quite spacious. Food is Ok and pretty expensive ( not worth it). Have tried a few mains (fish and chicken ones), didn’t like it much.Good ambience, upstairs & outside seating is good.
As a historian I really appreciate this place. It is a time travel to the 1980’s, when to be swish all a pub needed was lots of brown, more than two beers on tap, and a menu of overpriced meat and fish dishes. If really daring the menu might include a vegie burger.Sadly for the Pyrmont Point, times have changed. And charging through the nose for very average, production line food, no longer cuts it regardless of the faux vintage meets RSL decor.Neither does only having just one vegetarian option on the mains menu – particularly if that option is the done to death vegie burger that no self respecting restaurant has done for a decade. Well, in inner suburbs that is. Not when vegetarians are over 11% of the population countrywide and approximately 20% of the urban population. For all its pretenses, this is effectively a vastly overpriced outer western suburbs pub with delusions of sophistication. Don’t bother.
Nice location to enjoy an early Sunday dinner. I had the pork roast which came with a decent serve of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding with crackling, gravy and apple sauce. The kid’s burger was a bit of a letdown with a measly meat patty. Friendly service and welcoming atmosphere.
