This place has dropped in quality and service. It appears there is new management and the food lacks any Japanese quality that it once had. We live around the corner and so we were attending this place at least once a week and noticed the change over the last couple of months. Dont expect even second rate Japanese food here. Sad to see this one go down the hill. AVOID it!

One of my locals since moving to the area. I find the food always reliable, favourites are takoyaki and the sushi – quick and delicious !!!!

Yup it has been a day for keeping it local, I love Sushi Club been coming here for years. Flat Mate decided menulog was boring old same same Thai, Pizza or MSG laden Chinese so popped down to Sushi Club to see what was available to take away. Always the ever helpful and accommodating folk he was back laden with a feast for for more than 2 (couldn’t move for a couple of hours after). The food from Sushi club is always top notch and take away is no exception. We had the Harbor Bridge platter with a side serving of warm smoked eel sushi. The fish is always uber fresh from this unassuming lil restaurant and they rate among my personal top 5 in the area for great affordable dining…

It was a rainy day and we wanted somewhere close to eat. There are a few japanese options along Harris St and I always see this place on the way home on the bus.Got here 5 minutes before it reopened for dinner at 5pm. Thought that the food would be good because we were the first customers for dinner and also because there was 1 other diner there… they came 10 minutes into trade.Complimentary miso soup tasted like water. Entre was fried dumplings. They were small and too greasy. I would suggest going for steamed instead. I saw some dude eating them and they looked better.I got a rice dish with karrage. Too little rice, salad was poor… saving grace was the chicken. It was not the best.My girlfriend got a bento box. It looked alright and I tasted some of the components of it. The rice was drenched in teriyaki sauce and was so sweet she couldn’t eat it. The tempura was oily. Sashimi didn’t taste fresh. was definitely not the best bento box we have had.Wait staff were pleasant, the environment decemt enough but I think the food let us down. Not sure if I will be back, I would prefer to eat down the road.***Take note that this is of course all based on my unqualified opinion! My considerations: 1. Food 2. Value 3. Service 4. Atmosphere

What’s with Japanese restaurants that aren’t run/cook/have anyone Japanese in it? I’m a food lover and would love to enjoy authenthic food/cuisine. When it says Japanese restaurant, I expect at least the chef is Japanese, a person with knowledge and who knows what the real taste of Japanese food is like.I ordered soft shell crab sushi roll, the crab was cold, the sushi was served in a pasta plate, the rice tasted aweful and the way the sushi rolled was also very poorly done. $16 for 6 pieces of below average sushi surely a waste of money. Will not recommend or ever go back to this place.

Lovely little place that sells fresh seafood and great prices. The bento boxes are value for money and definitely fill you up. Service is friendly, food came out fast & it has a nice relaxed vibe.

Small and cosy with great service and quality preparation. The prices are great and my sashimi was really nicely presented and tasted great. Unfortunately no wine list but oh well…
