Avoid this place if you can! Came here because the rating was decent but I have no idea why anyone would rate this place. Food was barely edible, no flavour whatsoever and very greasy. Very pricey for such a poor food experience when we could have had better from the supermarket freezer, left feeling so disappointed.
Canton queanbeyan. The canton has been a family favourite for years and I would put it way above most chinese restaurants. Highly recommend crispy beef in plum sauce and the char Kway teow is absolutely great.
I was really disappointed with the food from here. Everything was pretty bland other than the rock salt chilli pork which seemed like it had loads of MSG. Even the plain rice was bad – it seemed really old and wasn’t very hot. We waited for an hour for our take away order, and they didn’t put it all in. Won’t be coming here again
The signature dish the salt chilli squid is just deep fried pieces of squid. Close your eyes and you could be in any fish and chip shop in australia. No chinese flavours at all. Other dish we tried was par for the course. Service was friendly and prompt. If this is queanbeyan’s best then heaven help us
Disappointed. On ordering 2 dishes that cost close to $50 for home delivery to be told it would take just under 1hr 30min on a Saturday was no dramas. When it turned into over 2hrs and then get a call cause they send the poor waitress to the wrong address not particularly happy with the service. Bit of advice don’t get home delivery.
I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always great. Superb cha giao (Vietnamese spring rolls), wonderful rock salt chili squid, friendly and helpful service, and very reasonable prices, make for a most enjoyable and satisfying experience. Be sure to book, as it gets really busy.
Best Chinese in Queanbeyan. There are quite a few Chinese restaurants in Queanbeyan but Canton stands out.Always friendly and you sometimes have to wait a while for a take away (but that is because they are very popular with the locals, travelling reps and the like), worth the wait. It is nothing different from many other western Chinese places around but it is made well every time so you know you are getting a good meal every time. But my fianc and I love the honey chilli ribs they are great and none of the other Chinese places do one like it so it keeps us coming back for that house special. Not the Cheapest in town but def the best.Note: for some weird reason I always feel like Chinese on a Monday, they are closed on Mondays LOL.
