So very disappointed. The roast of the day would be the worst meal I have ever been served. The pork was steamed and served with chips that were not fresh, and a spoon full of potatoes and carrots. No other veggies.I have been going to the Central Cafe for years and loved every meal. Never again.
The Central Cafe used to be a bit of a legend for generous serves of great food at reasonable prices. It has been redecorated and renamed as 111; it is is now a gloomy hole. Lunch today should have been simple, a burger and lambs fry. 15 minutes after ordering news arrived that the lambs fry was unavailable – resolve to share the burger, another 15 minutes until it arrived – a small heavily salted meat patty, a bit of salad, a bland bun and some limp chips. Very disappointing meal – only redeeming factor was good coffee. We won’t be back.
As with the Gunghalin establishment with the same name(not sure if they are affiliated), great Big Brekkie joint! Definitely a must if you are in the area and nursing a hangover, or just have a huge appetite. Have only been a couple of times over the years for brekkie.
Worst food I have ever eaten in my life.Tasteless, impotent meals with no care or love whatsoever.Very disappointing as it used to be a premier dinning establishment.New owners have no idea what they are doing. Even Gordon Ramsay could help them. Please avoid at all costs.
New Management at Central Cafe, Queanbeyan. I’ve tasted a lot of the menu:The Seafood Basket was huge and I especially liked the sauce filled with a fresh mix of seafood. The steak was so big and cooked well I was certainly filled and satisfied.Easily my favourite dish. For breakfast I had sausages, tomato, eggs on toast. I was able to have them either fried, poached, scrambled or boiled, I chose fried sunnyside up. It was done perfectly. The new management will do well. I understand a new menu is coming which will add more pasta, ravioli and risotto dishes and deserts. I look forward to it. Well done Central Caf.
Toasted Chicken, Cheese and Asparagus Sandwich. The service is always great. I have only had another order when I go to this cafe and that is the breakfast. I can normally eat a lot but this breakfast is so much food, good place to take my brother when he is in town. I now have the toasted chicken, cheese and asparagus sandwich, then there is chips on the side, these people must know my Mum as she always thinks that people don’t have enough food. The price is reasonable unlike another cafe down the next street who charge double but there is hardly any fillings. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is no pretentions. Keep up the great work Central Cafe.
Terrible! The service is non existent, had to get our own menus, cutlery, was served flat soft drink. After eating the tomato soup & thinking ‘gee this tastes like canned soup’ i found out that afternoon by an ex employee that is in fact IS canned soup with cream added. For $9 a bowl!! I dine out slot but will never be going to this horrible place again.
