We went for a birthday lunch for my husband and fully enjoyed everything we had to eat. The waiter recommended three to four dishes for the two of us, so we had tomatoes and herbed ricotta, spiced cauliflower and yoghurt, and parpadelle with lamb ragout. It was all extremely delicious. All are share plates and prices varied from $8 for a pork belly slider, up to $75 for a steak dish that we were told is too big for two. Apparently the menu changes regularly depending what they are growing and what is in season. It was a beautiful day, we enjoyed the food and my husband enjoyed his ros and sparkling wine. We bought some of the sparkling to take home. Highly recommend.
Fabulous setting and very friendly service. But the food disappointed badly this time (has been good before). Stale bread (very), lettuce from a packet way past fresh (should have been thrown out), haloumi grilled but clearly many hours or even days ago, salmon which clearly had been frozen (chewy), duck tough and chewy. Beef salad ok but for the lousy lettuce. In short, nothing much good. Mixed results on the drinks too. The wine was good but the sparkling was flat, as was the beer – undrinkable. I can’t believe they would even think to serve it.
Organic treasure trove!. The restaurant is a relatively new addition to quite an old family winery – with a nice modern building that has an excellent view over the vines. The menu is pretty small, but we’re told it changes almost weekly as the restaurant grows most of the produce on the organic farm. Food was delicious-menu pricing seems on average with the local area – $15 entrees, $25 mains, $15 desserts. The wine list is clearly the main attraction here – with all of their wines by the glass, a lot of back vintages and even some house brewed beer & cider. Worth a visit, especially if you’re into organic food & wine.
