Delicious food, although there are still some wrinkles to be ironed out. Ble is a relatively new Greek restaurant in Ramsgate. The location gives it a neighbourhood vibe, but they are clearly aiming for something more upmarket than just a popular local. We started with the pita bread (3), warm kalamata olives (14) and hummus (11). All terrific starters with the exception of the olive bread that came with the olives, a small roll that was strangely dry and cold. Mains were Chicken Kontosouvli (27/36), Lamb Shoulder (34/59) and spanakopita (26). The standout for me was the spanakopita, wrapped in filo and served hot in a cast iron pan at the table. Desserts are a mix of largely traditional greek specialities. Ultimately there are plenty of crowd pleasing options on the menu but what won’t please everyone is the price point. With dessert and a drink we came to $160 for two, which is a tough ask in a neighbourhood setting. Still, it’s early days and hopefully Ble can find its groove in an area that needs more places willing to stand out from the rest.

Really unhappy with this experience. It got one chef’s hat in the Good Food Guide 2019 but I have no idea how. They put my husband and I in the corner in front of the bar. We were continually surrounded by tiny fruit flies, which were attacking our mezze plate. It was gross and when I originally complained, the waitress did nothing. She was useless when my husband asked her for some information about the beers. I then had to ask her to move us to another table as the fruit flies were continually flying into my face. The food was underwhelming. I’ve had better Greek food at street vendors. The lamb shoulder was very tender, but there was literally no seasoning or flavour added. Not even rosemary or garlic! Definitely overpriced food considering there are no views of the ocean. I then tried to use my Good Food Guide Voucher to pay for my bill, but they refused to take it, despite having stickers of their 1 hat plastered all over the front window. Would not recommend this restaurant.
The food was SPECTACULAR! Me and my family loved every dish they served, they took Greek cuisine to another level, I recommend highly to anyone
