I always find Clovelly a little suburban to the home 'hood, but that only makes A Man and His Monkey a perfect fit. There's a sleepy, quiet and low ke…

Got the Avocado & Feta smash on sourdough and a green juice. Very tasty food and prompt efficient service too. Will definitely be back in the future. Cool name doesn’t hurt either.
Good range of breakfasts (my personal favourite is the acai bowl), and thecoffee is consistently good. Lots of cakes, home mademuffinsand pastries, some gluten free options, many made in house. Lots of teas and cold pressed juices, specialty sandwiches and Israeli dishes. Kind of Central European meets Israeli, reflecting the owners.I love the vintage interior. The only think I would like is a salad option.
This is my Mum and Sis fave local cafe so I came along for a visit last Sunday. I didn’t order food however my sis got the Israeli breakfast plate which looked amaze and she absolutely loved it. Hubs and Mum got poached eggs and salmon and loved it. I got two piccolos which were very nice. Using Little Marionette beans which I am partial too.
After walking past this place numerous times on my daily runs, I decided to give this ago one morning. Must say for a cool little spot it does a good breakfast. Orders the smashed avocado with danish feta and two eggs. Big helping which is always great but my only gripe with the meal was the use of mint in the smash. Wasn’t sure if it went well but other than that loved it. Coffee was decent but I’m pretty picky with my coffee. Vibe was relaxed and the help was friendly and polite. The fact they had the daily news papers was a good touch too.
This cafe in Clovelly has a few outside tables and spacious inside. It’s styled with vintage furniture and a chalkboard for the menu. They use bread fresh from the bread and butter project which I like. They have items freshly baked daily; toasted sourdough, croissants etc. From the alacarte menu; there’s chia pudding, acai bowl, farmer jo’s muesli, salmon bowls, labne bowls, salmon bowls, hummus plates and israeli baked eggs. I got farmer Jo’s muesli that was topped with fruit; kiwi fruit, banana and stewed berries. It had yoghurt at the bottom which was a bit plain and needed some flavour. But that’s just my personal opinion. I wasn’t a huge fan of the coffee, a bit bitter. Atmosphere of the cafe was relaxing, playing some chilled out tunes.
