The veg curry and the daal were fantastic, really rich flavours and a decent price for the size and quality. The chicken tikka was rather bland, though, and the samosas and naan were quite expensive for a small portion. However, my big mistake was ordering delivery. They gave a delivery estimate of 1 hour 15 minutes at what I thought would be a quiet time and then they were 28 minutes late from the estimate. I mentioned it to a friend who said he once went into the restaurant for takeaway and had to wait over an hour for it. They had heavily cling-wrapped the containers, which was good because they just jumbled it all into a bag sideways and it all would have spilled otherwise. Then the delivery guy called me and I went to the door and couldn’t see anyone. I think he was still in the car when he called and he showed up a couple of minutes later. Maybe it would be fine to eat in the restaurant (assuming you can get served in under an hour) but delivery is well beyond Lal Qila’s skill level and there are quality South Asian alternatives who have no problem delivering on time.
