Food and service was OK. The noise level was so high that we were not able to have a decent conversation; mind you that it was a Wednesday night dinner. The restaurant was full. Not a place to have a nice and quality conversation. Full stop. Not fun experience. We walked away with headache.
Unassuming, homely restaurant with friendly staff. I’ve been a couple of times and have enjoyed it both times. I especially liked the inari and croquettes! The deep fried whitebait could have been crispier, but otherwise everything was great. sarahversuscarbs.com
Good value for the lunch special! Teriyaki fish with salad, rice and miso soup for $10. Quick and easy service for lunch breaks. Will definitely come back again. Their today’s special menu also caught my eye. They were serving cod yummm
I LOVE this place! I try to go there a few times a week. Great food, prepared quickly and well priced. Tany and Chiyoko are wonderful hosts and their staff are friendly and attentive. I try to have something different each time but especially love the sashimi, gyoza, katsu, tempura udon, okonomiyaki, seaweed salad mm mmm i’m getting hungry thinking about it 🙂
This is pretend Japanese food. Nothing is quite right and if I was told that the owners are not Japanese I would believe you. I go back every 6 months to make sure that I still don’t have a good Japanese restaurant in the hood. One day I wish we could get a Nom, Chaco bar or a Kagura in Redfern but yet.
If you’re not too fussy with Jap food then this place won’t let you down. It has a solid menu with pretty much everything you’d want. The drawback is that it’s not spectacular…so it’s good but there are better jap restaurants within a 10 min radius. If you’re after value for money this probably isn’t the place…but if you’re in Redfern and craving sushi then give it a go..you could do a lot worse than this place
Great value, lovingly prepared, delicious food. What’s not to love?
