Would visit again because there were many things on the menu I found enticing and it was a difficult decision! Very friendly staff who didnt mind that my friends and I sat there all day until they had put all the seats up and kindly asked us to leave. Haha.
A nice cafe that is usually busy this place rolls out food pretty quickly for a 3 man team in the kitchen. Finally got to try their truffle stuff and it was so good. My most favourite was the truffle duck pasta…. So good and tasty. asianfoodninja.com
This is one of the places got average coffee but great food; but this is the only place I still would rate 5/5 even the coffee wasnt that good! We had the truffles menu Peking Duck Pasta, the Bacon Blini, and the French Toast, all great potion and very tasty. Worthwhile the 40 min waiting!
Ordered: Crab angel Hair pasta ($21), vegan crumpet ($16), el luchador bruschetta ($19) and spanish omlette ($21). I had the brushetta which was one massive piece of grilled toast with various toppings. The flavours worked well as there were both creamy and acidic elements which kept it vibrant alongside the soft boiled egg which bought substance to the dish. I thought the dish needed another egg though to be a complete breakfast. Of all the plates, I think the angel hair pasta had the most ‘wow’ in terms of taste and appearance. The crumpet however was tiny and wouldn’t be suitable if you have a big appetite, so I personally wouldn’t recommend it.
The ruby rose French toast is great. Crunchy on the outside, white chocolate macadamia crumb ice cream acidic raspberries to cut the sweetness. I have a pretty big sweet tooth but I think even for me it was just a bit too sweet. The side of chips for $7 was massive. The beer battered chicken salt chips were so crisp on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. Theyve definitely increased the portion sizes since I Iast came, which was really good!
This beautiful little restaurant is hidden away in trendy Redfern and is full of delicious food. There is a small menu, filled with a real range of foods. Each meal is carefully plated and generous in size. The coffee is delicious. They have a beautiful truffle month when in season, the waffle fries are a must. There is a wonderful modern atmosphere with calming dim lighting. It is often filled with business people and professional couples with the odd mothers group. The environment says high class dining with a environment to match however unfortunately the service is a tremendous let down. I have rarely come to such a nice establishment with such poor service. You have to beg to be served, and when you ask to be served they behave like you are inconveniencing them, even when there are few people in the restaurant. Unfortunately it is not just one bad experience, I have been 3 times and found the same service. I wont come back again.
coffee was good although the food did not meet my expectations for the 4.6 review, had the smashed peas on sourdough. The bread was not fresh, peas ovecooked so the overall flavour was not quite right…
