Great traditional Lebanese with old school atmosphere. Would recommend the mixed plates & their ladies fingers are to die for. The only let down is their sweets
We went here a while ago after a few drinks so didn’t really remember how bad it was! Second time around was worse, terrible service, greasy grisly meat & everything soaked in cheap oil. Upside was dips plate! Fresh and tasty. So yep, avoid.
what a horrible take away ever had. chips are just too greasy . like deep fried with not hot enough oil ..just soaked in a oil … how can u make chips like this? and all meats are just dried out and way too cold. never come back . I don’t why people still go there…
What a rip off. $25 for mixed vegetarian plate for one. About $2.50 worth of food. Beware it’s a total scam. Terrible service, Never ever again. This needs to be exposed. When I calmly expressed my disappointed they sent for a heavy to intimidate me after I had paid. STAY AWAY!!!
Don’t get the small banquet. I’ve been to Wilsons in the past and been impressed, but this time I left still hungry after getting the banquet (at $28 a head it was the small banquet). We thought we’d just eaten the entree and were waiting for the main for around half an hour before they bought us the billthe food was delicious but the serves tiny! I feel bad writing a negative review because Wilsons has been around for ages and I have enjoyed them in the past, but we felt really ripped off and it put a big dampener on our Saturday night. Now we’re home and my partner is eating a microwaved meat pie for mains.
Simple food home style. To start, we ordered potato chips & a trio of dips. The potatoes ($5) were hand cut and fried. The dips were ok, of the three one had a smokey taste to it. The pita bread served with the dips also had a smokey taste to it. I’m not sure if this was on purpose but I was hesitant to eat it.For the mains were ordered Shish Kebab ($15) & Chicken Swarsan ($15). The meat was nicely cooked and flavours were good, however I found the portions to be on the small side for the price. The food we tried seemed very much home styled. Although I would not return for the food. It is a relaxed neighborhood restaurant and serves alcohol. For amazing and fresh dips I recommend Sultan’s Table in Newton.
Although the service isn’t great, the food is simple but consistent in quality and it tastes amazing for the price point. One of my treasured favorites because it has yet to let me down!
