Amazing food at this restaurant. Couple that with the friendliness of the staff always trying to accommodate even the ‘late’ walk-ins with a smile on their faces. There were 5 of us and after sharing multiple entrees – we were unable to decide which one was our favourite as they were all so yummy. Loved the stuffed chicken wings, wontons and salt & pepper seafood. The mains were also high quality. Peking beef, Shaking Beef – ohh my the Satay Chicken and actually everything we ordered was outstanding. Desserts as well were delightful – especially loving the coconut ice cream and the vanilla bean ice cream that accompanied our final course.Such a winning combination of great food and service and wonderful staff. See you again soon.
We came here to celebrate my best friends graduation, close to home, since a bunch of the group had either assignments or early starts the day after. The restaurant doesn’t boast with the decor, keeping it very simple and classic. First thing that stood out was the wonderfully designed menu, with gluten free and vegetarian options (definitely need to see more of these!). We ordered the ‘pancake’, ‘beef steak with rice’, ‘chicken soup’ and ‘vegetarian rice noodles’, along with the ‘crab wontons’ to start and the ‘banana fritters’ and ‘fried ice cream’ for dessert. The beef steak was flavourful, however we would have preferred it with more veggies. I ate the pancake, which was unfortunately very bland but when I ate it with the chicken soup it was quite nice. The noodles were nice, however not spectacular. What stood out for us was the chicken soup. The fried chicken was tender and spicy, and the soup really cleared out the sinuses. It was a bit annoying considering it was kinda deconstructed, but this was definitely a highlight. The wontons came out quite late, even though that was a starter, but were delicious and sweet with the crab, and tangy with the dressing. The banana fritters were served with store bought vanilla ice cream, but the fritters themselves were nice. The fried ice cream was covered in chocolate sauce, which ofc everyone loved, with a tasty sweet and crispy coating. The service here was a interesting. We found it overall nice, however we were treated to a few comments that came off a little rude from the flustered waitress. Overall however, this restaurant is a local gem and you can really see the friend base they have gathered. If I lived in the area, within 5 minutes, I would certainly come back to try some other recipes! theminiaturelife.com
We live around the corner, and have been here multiple times. The staff are incredibly friendly, and you can tell they have a great relationship with their regulars. Smiles all around, chatty and really warm in their interactions. They can be really busy, and have amazing guests (such as national rugby teams!) come eat there, plus their regular degustation menus that sell out very quickly when they hold them.Food wise, its very fresh, very clean taste. Presentation is moderate, nothing too ‘out there’, but its always well cooked, and well worth the wait. We have even watched the local police come in to get take-away to eat inside their patrol car!The space is small but with the decor, it feels spacious and comforting with its dark walls and warm furnishings. It is really somewhere you have to come to try!
Delicious Fusion Thai and Viet CuisineTheir desserts satisfies your sweet tooth! Clean and quiet environment (bonus) Friendly and lovely staff3rd time round and still the same. Hard to look for though as the outside looks a bit dark and dull. But none the less will definitely recommend to friends and family.
From the street you would not pick Green Mango to be as good as it is. Once you step inside it is clean, simple and well presented. We were greeted by friendly, helpful service. There is a good variety of dishes on the menu and the food tasted great. Last week was the first time I had been here.I will be recommending Green Mango to others when in the area and I will be back for lunch soon as I work nearby.
Absolutely Delicious!!!. My husband and I regularly dine at Green Mango. It is by far our favourite Vietnamese restaurant! The staff are very warm and welcoming and always go above and beyond. Every dish is mouthwatering. We highly recommend you visit this beautiful restaurant! P.s. Make sure you order the fried ice cream for dessert it is to die for!!
A true standout. The Green Mango is by far the best restaurant within the local north Bankstown area. It’s not just that they make great food, have friendly and interesting staff or one of the few places in Bankstown with great atmosphere. It’s that they have all this in the one restaurant. The entree’s are great (stuffed chicken wings are my favourite). The mains include a variety of Curries, vegetarian dishes, pho and seafood. You can always find an interesting option and the food is incredibly fresh! I have been going for 8 years and the quality of the dish has never disappointed. The only criticism that can be offered is that most dishes are not traditional Vietnamese, this is more of a fusion restaurant. My Vietnamese wife and I still love the variety and spice in each dish. Deserts are a must! The Coconut and Lychee’s are definately my favourite, mouth is watering as I type.
