Is it really a trip to IKEA if you dont have meatballs? Except this time I tried their Vege balls ragout – natural sweetness of chickpea, carrot, pea and corn! YUM
Settled down on this venue as my cellphone was hungry too and they got mobile phone chargers. Ambience was great and full of current IKEA catalog items. We ordered vegetable balls pasta along and salmon. Salmon was bit dry but vegetable fritters were amazing. Vegetable pasta was good at the given price. They do have unlimited refills of coffee and soft drinks, but do not expect anything fancy over here. They got some in house colas which were ok but coffee was shame. I would rate 7-Eleven coffee better.
Foodcourt for this is strategically placed in the middle of your IKEA trip where youd most likely be a bit tired (and a tad bit peckish) from getting lost whilst exploring this Swedish branded home extravaganza.Visited IKEA post brunch nearby at another cafe but heard that these meatballs were iconic and highly raved about for years already so decided to give the 10 piece a go instead of the standard 15 piece serving.I must commend IKEA on their product placement of their own branded desserts on display in the glass cabinets, an arm distance away and easily accessible while you waited in a line for this dish, as well as other dining options like salmon. Thankfully I was still full from brunch, otherwise a slice of cheeky caramel slice wouldve made its way onto my plastic tray as I waited in queue. Meatballs tasted overall decent but unsure if its worthy of all the hype because after all, with a price tag of $7.95 for 10 meatballs (or $10.95 for 15), mashed potato, lingonberry jam and creamy sauce – what more could you ask for? Especially when you can add chips as a side for only $2.00.Fun Fact: These meatballs are infact not manufactured in Sweden, but actually in Turkey. *boom*
