Great place to have brunch with some friends. Visited here around midday for the famed popcorn hotcakes and they were lovely. I do recommend trying some of their other dishes as everything we ordered was great (including the fries). The ambience was nice and lovely service. Will be back as its not just an ‘instagram’ restaurant but actually has great food.
+3 decent cafe+0.5 lovely ambience / location+0.5 my dish was delish!Noise level: conversation at soft speaking volume. My food was well balanced and looked great too! The veggies were perfectly cooked, and very flavourful. Avo was delish and the feta gave sharpness. The egg and bread pulled it all into a hearty brunch. Portion size is larger than youd typically get too, which is nice.Friend had chicken wings, which was a little heavy and maybe more for sharing.
A little neighbourhood cafe where almost every patron is greeted by name. The decor is nice and well thought out and and service is friendly too. The coffee was rather good, although as an in house diner, preference was given to take aways so I waited close to 10 minutes for my latte, while watching people pop in, order and received their TA coffees multiple times. What disappointed me was the breakfast. The sourdough toast was ordinary, the vegemite was rock solid for some reason (its 27 deg today) and not spreadable. The bacon as you can see on the picture was bizarre… hard but not particularly crispy and completely devoid of flavour, possibly because it was fried to death. One of the poached egg was over cooked on a quarter of the yolk, the other one was fine. Overall not what thought a 4.2 cafe should be.
Food is impressive and there are still items on the menu I want to try. My group was impressed. Food came out at a reasonable rate and there is indoor and outdoor seating. My main criticism though its not there fault is parking can be hard and the portion size is a little small for what you pay. Still,I would come back
Wanna give this place a 4.5 rating but can’t We were welcomed to one of the prettiest, spacious cafes I’ve ever seen in Sydney. The view is beautiful, so close to the waterbank and a seat next to window certainly helped with the pictures We ordered their classic chilli scrambled eggs and the corned beef hash. The chilli scramble was so beautifully done and presented. Just the right amount of heat kick from the chilli and the eggs were so fluffy with a little hint of toasted crispness (aka. perfect timing )The corned beef hash looked a bit small but regardless, it was a very fulfilling meal. I was so happy. The hash was done well. Corned beef potentially cooked too long? Many burnt pieces – I’m not sure how cafes do corned beef but the corned beef I know is usually pretty juicy and saucy , but again it could be a different way of cooking. Addition of two fried eggs was a lovely finish Mocha was heaven. Done so well, silky finish, and really silky, creamy texture throughout. Perfectly done soy. My friend was happy with her soy latt too.
Me and my friend had a lunch here few weeks ago and i loved their pancake! its yummy and it can feed two people coz of their big servings. Coffee here is standard nothing special. The burger that my friend ordered was good too. Price is okay and customer service was great! Instagrammable. Recommended.
Located close to the water, Left of Field is a dog friendly cafe serving yummy food at standard cafe prices. We ordered the chilli scramble eggs which isnt anywhere near as spicy as the name implies, special carrot hotcakes (think carrot cake but a good kind of different) and the salmon , egg, dill served on a milk bun. Everything tasted great.
