If you just want a good hearty meal with big portions, lots of flavours and anything meal you want e.g. breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time then Georges Bistro is the place to be.When I was told about this place, I thought it would be empty because it is like an RSL club. However we were very lucky to find a table. It was full of people.This establishment is not a formal place where you can have a romantic dinner or a candle light dinner. There is lots of noise from people talking and enjoying their meals.Food Very big portions and even being that they are big portions, they do not lose any flavour. The chef does a great job. We (my 2 mates and I) ordered a Seafood basket / Fishermans basket (Cant recall the exact name). The seafood was well cooked and there was a mixture of hot and cold. On the platter there was boiled prawns, cooked prawns, calamari, fish cocktails, mussels, oysters, hot chips / fries and salad. All this for $20. Apparently I was told by the person who recommended this establishment to me that the meal used to be a lot bigger thought it seems with economy () portions have decreased.Service The staff are friendly. It seems it is a family business from what I could see. The young lady who takes the orders seemed to know her dishes. All the staff were happy to help and always smiling. There was a group of family that gave everyone hard time as they kept on changing their orders; however the staff made sure they resolved their issue.Atmosphere this is a bistro and not your location to have a candlelight dinner. Outside the room you will have a bar and poker machines. The restaurant / bistro is very busy and crowded but you can still have a proper discussions with your group and be able to understand what they say. The meal will make up the rest as the food is delicious.Value well fishermans basket costs $20 each. In a restaurant with the amount of food that we got you wold probably expect $30 – $40. Dont get me wrong, it is no presented to win an award for presentation however let me assure you, it does taste amazing.I am looking forward to going back again and this time trying steak with egg. Yes half breakfast and half dinner.
