Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience in Swallow coffee despite the positive reviews I had read. Really unfriendly and rude attitude.One friend and I arrived early and told the management that there would be 4 of us dining in. Got a bigger table, and was willing to swap with a smaller table coz the other 2 friends had not arrived yet. 2 of us ordered food and ate whilst waiting for the other 2 to come, somehow, got a phone call, the other 2 couldnt make it. They sneered at us, sounded like we were lying to them….. needless to say we will never come back!
By their own admission, Swallow Coffee Traders is a bit of a hipster cafe you’d more likely to expect in Marrickville than opposite Rockdale train station. Throughout the morning there seemed to be a steady stream of patrons, no doubt attracted to the excellent Single O coffee and a very decently priced food menu.
The Swallow Coffee Traders cafe has modern twist to an industrial style interior. The murals that decorate the wall are fantastic and makr the place cozy.The single origin piccolo had cherry chocolate flavours with a honeycomb finish. You could taste the sweetness at the end of the sip. The Red Bliss had just enough sweetness and without overpowering the watermelon – a refreshing beverage for a hot day. The Cheesy Jaffle takes you back to your childhood! Those crisply edges and packed with hot cheese so it burns the roofof you’re mouth makes me feel 7 years old again.Avocado Zaa’tar with Poached Eggs had a delicious toasted artisan bread and perfectly poached eggs (see the yolkporn picture). Douse this with fresh lemon and it tastes fantastic!Rustic Bacon & Egg Roll hits the spot and satisfies that bacon and egg roll needs… but the caramelised onion took me to a whole new level of brunch satisfaction.The staff are amazing! Big smiles and very friendly. I’m going to eat here lots… and buy a jaffle maker!
