Ive been going here for a while, and they never fail to disappoint. The quinoa salad is a favourite, and Ive hooked a lot of my friends on it, but their mango chicken salad is not to be passed up either. This cafe is the only cafe I have been to that has consistently good coffee – they have never once burnt it, made it too strong, or too weak. Similarly, they have never messed up the poached eggs. They use bread from bake bar, which is always delicious. Id recommend the multi-grain sourdough. The ambience is lovely too – wooden seating with the most comfortable pillows, and cute little cactus replicas on floating shelves on the exposed brick wall. They are also dog friendly – they have a couple of outdoor seats specifically for this, and its always fun to give some of these adorable pooches a belly rub. But best of all of all these traits is their wonderful service. They are kind, attentive, and always friendly. Would definitely recommend anyone to give Dover Cafe a visit.

Six of us breakfasted here on a sunny Sun morning in August. We ordered a couple of coffees, two vegetarian omelets, a toasted cheese sandwich and avocado on toast. There were no complaints about the food or beverages. It was all fresh, tasty and nicely presented to the table on stylish white crockery. Ambience was busy, lively and energetic. This is clearly a popular breakfast spot for the locals. My only complaint though was the slow service. Whilst the drinks were brought out fairly quickly, there followed a 30 minute wait for the food items to arrive, and then they were brought out in dribs and drabs; one at a time. Whilst I appreciate that they were busy, I dont enjoy sitting and twiddling my thumbs for ages while waiting for food to arrive. I find it a tedious and boring pastime, especially at breakfast (where you really expect things to move along at a brisk pace), so my suggestion to these guys is that they put on extra staff to cope during the weekend morning rush! There are reasonably clean toilets at the back: one for males and one for females. The location, near the corner of New South Head and Dover Roads is convenient, with a little parking area just behind, at the intersection of Ian Street, where there are no restrictions on Sundays. Alternatively, you can always find free parking in Dover Road a bit further up closer to Old South Head Rd.And just note that the address should be Rose Bay, not Double Bay!

I ordered my favourite breakfast Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it totally hit the spot. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the yolk oozed out as I sliced into it. My soy latte was rich and dark. Can’t fault anything. Love this place!

Fast service, very friendly staff and great interior fitout.Great coffee. Very good food. I usually order the breakfast bruschetta and they use fresh avocado. The chutney that goes with it has a bit of a kick and I really enjoy it!

Not sure they’re all that interested in customers. Seemed pretty indifferent to me. Went for brekky. Food average. Service unsmiling & unwelcoming. They did a passing trade in coffee, suggesting takeaway was the way to go. My bad.
