One of many Indonesian restaurant that has been exist for long time. The unique about this place is because thy serving fried chicken with very soft bones.Im just guessing that after marinated with exotic herbs and spices, chicken was cooked in pressure cooker, cool down, coated in season flour then ready to be fried as you come to order.Chicken to be honest taste good but I found this chicken breast was dried out, just because I did order chicken breast. Other dishes like kangkung and Sayur asem was interesting too, even they are not my to go dishes.

We bought:6 portions of 1/4 atl chook 3.75/5, atl is an acronym for ayam tulang lunak, literally soft bone chicken, which has been marinated w various spices (dont ask as i have no idea lol), cooked in a pressure cooker, then dunked into a deep fryer. Served w rice/tapioca (deep fried) flakes as a garnish or with salted egg gravy. Lesser known than the normal ayam goreng (indo fried chook), ayam kalasan (indo chook w sweet soy sauce n spices), ayam bakar (indo roast chook), ayam goreng mentega (butter fried chook), ayam woku, atl is nonetheless super enjoyable. Try it if you havent. The free sambal is bloody hot, even for me. So use sparingly. Atl meal pack; rice, atl chook, sayur asem (indo tamarind veg soup), fried tofu/tempeh. Pretty good value. Roasted petai stinky beans, an acquired taste, believed to help w digestion, lower blood pressure, hangover n even depression, it is usually stir fried w garlic chilli n prawns. This was served as is. Which is a more potent form of warding off unwanted attention from peeps youd rather not get too intimate with. A good side dish along w the atl chook or as an appetizer. Chook noodle mee ayam 2.75/5, no biggie, better indo noodles elsewhere like my delights just up the road. Gado2 indo salad w tofu n peanut dressing. The salad was all good except the peanut dressing lacked punch n depth. Wonder why they chose to make it mild when the sambal was so deadly.

Great food, loved the ayam crispy telor asin, delicious sambals. One thing for sure if you ever come visit, order the sambal mangga muda. on the contrary, the resto is quite confined (although it feels quite homey) but its a very2 small blotch in an otherwise awesome visit.

Been curious about this place cause they serve ayam tulang lunak (soft bone chicken) which very famous in my country Indonesia. I expected the taste will be the same. Chicken bone is soften enough, but i think cause they use chicken broiler instead organic chicken so the taste not really savory. I was ordered ayam penyet but chilli paste not as hot as i expected, otherwise additional sambal terasi (balachan chilli paste) is very very hot. Unfortunately if you want to add more sambal terasi they charge $5 For ayam penyet, tahu penyet (tofu on chilli paste), rice and 2 teh kotak (jasmine tea Indonesian style on tetra pack) all cost me $20. Sorry i wasnt take the picture cause my smartphone was running battery.

The soft bone chicken is so good at ATL! It’s also kind of off-putting to eat soft bones, but once you get past that, it’s awesome. The fried rice is decent. And the kangkung is always a winning vegetable side to order. sarahversuscarbs.com

Waiting time to be seatedWaiting time to order foodWaiting for food to arriveService providedQuality/taste of food Value for moneyWould I come back?Soft-bone chicken you won’t be able to get anywhere in Sydney. This place is a definite must for all chicken lovers. The Ayam Goreng Tulang Lunak never disappoints. The kangkung kind of lost its way. Wasn’t really cooked well.
