This cute little French bakery offers a range of freshly baked breads, pastries, sweet & savoury tarts and cakes. People are in & out buying all the goodies and the popular items go fast. The baguette is crusty on the outside & soft inside & I couldnt help but to nibble on it straight after buying it – how French! The almond croissant had a lovely almond paste filling enclosed within a nice croissant. The fruit tarts look delectable & perfect for me as I don’t like them too sweet. Flakey puff pastry base with a thin layer of custard and topped with seasonal fruits. I loved the tartness of the plum & apricot ones I chose. The quiches are also delicious – classic lorraine is cheesy & creamy tasting whilst the vegetarian option was sweeter with caramelised onions & roasted pumpkin as well as a pesto base topped with pinenuts. Would love to try the coconut & strawberry daiquoise & lemon meringue next time. Very friendly service, bakery has no seating but they also sell a small range of French cheeses & butter.

Walk into this quaint bakery and be greeted with the enticing smell of fresh bread and pastry. Loaves line the wall behind the counter, and small displays of beautifully crafted tarts, cakes and pastries adorn the shelves. A golden and crusty petit pain is perfectly soft and fluffy on the inside. Perfect with lashings of butter, we ended up eating it plain, it was that good.
My favorite bakery in Sydney. Every time I go to Rozelle or Balmain, I get nice pastry from here. This time I got citron(lemon) tarte, pain au chocolat and chocolate eclair. My favorite so far is ruby rhubarb & strawberry tarte and almond chocolat croissant. I never had bad pastry here, and the staff is always friendly.
So many happy crunches at this little treasure. Remember it from when it stood at Balmain. The croissant is brilliant, one of the best in town but who can one refuse the rustic sun -dried tomato? Each bit is a search for sweet little sun-enriched pleasure; and each bit is rewarded (the mouth waters)
Two words – quiche lorraine. Perfect pastry, a deep custardy quiche with generous lashings of bacon. Must try. Also do a very good range of bread.
