The locals in the Ryde area must love their hot chocolates for there to be 2 outlets in the same shopping centre. This is the smaller outlet at street level. They have positioned a row of bar tables along the room length windows facing the street for some people/street watching. It was not busy on a Sunday afternoon, I’ve been here before at night on the weekend where it’s completely packed out. My mocha still took a bit of time to come out. Other then that quality is pretty consistent with other outlets.
A friend suggested we head to Oliver Brown for brunch as the spaghetti bolognese and shakshuka are really good. I was a bit skeptical but was pleasantly surprised especially with the spaghetti! Very tasty and the pasta al dente! Who would have thought at a dessert shop?
This place was ok. The chocolate was alright, but the coffee was a bit burnt and I had to sent the food back 3 times (A hair, rotten and then cold) only visit if a last resort!
Have had an ok burger here, nothing to call home about though. The meat was on the dyer side and the vegetables turned the bread into mush. Not much more to say about this one.
I really like the mood in this Oliver brown, especially when there’s two in one shopping centre! I can never resist getting my Belgium waffles but sadly every time I order this from Oliver brown, they are so dry I need water to wash it down 🙁 I’m always in a hope the next time it will be different but sadly it’s not. On the other hand with drinks, hot chocolate and coffees are a plus here!
