Amazing food. This restaurant is underrated by users for what reason I have no idea but my personal experience at this place was amazing. I must recommend this place. Ciao
Loved the food, the presentation of the food and the overall service. Neeta is very hands on at the restaurant, running back and forth from the kitchen to cater for everyone. We requested tandoori roti which was not on the menu but she was more than happy to make it for us. This is probably the best indian food I’ve tried in Sydney and I’ve tried all of Wigram st in Parramatta. Bijolias has it all – good food, classy ambience and great service. They have only built what they can manage, it’s not the biggest restaurants but it’s the best managed. Like Mirchi (Ngunnawal) is to Canberra, Bijolias is to Sydney.
Finally a decent indian joint in Sydney. We went here last night for the first time. We have tried numerous places on northern beaches and North shore. None have been worth going back. Til now! Unfortunately the place is tiny, like a cafe, if they could find a bigger place, they would make a mint. But maybe the smaller place means less people to feed at a time, which explains why food is so good, tasty and each dish looks fresh. Their menu has things different to most other indian places which is refreshing. My question is – to all curry houses is, WHY DOESNT ANYONE MAKE THEIR OWN POPPADUMS ? What’s wrong with making your own with a nice mint yoghurt, onion salad and pickle side. Not charging 3 bucks for microwaved ones n having to buy your own sides. Service was great, great to see them employing local beaches girls n guys for a change! Would love to see them grow if they could find a bigger premises and be able to keep the quality of food, a high level of service and authentic indian feel. If there’s any English reading this, get up there, it’s near on par to an English curry house back in Blighty !
An Indian Gem in Seaforth. Just got back from Bijolias and thought it was so worthy of a review. I have looked long and hard over the years for a decent Indian restaurant on the north shore and have been disappointed with most, apart from a number of those at Crows Nest. Hence I am very happy to have found a gem. We had chicken tikka and some pappadoms to start followed by Murgh Makhani, Hara Murgh (chicken with coriander and green chilli), Tamata Ghost and a pan fried eggplant dish, served with rice and plain naan. I am very picky with my Indian restaurants and have endured many disasters in the past, but Bijolias lived up to its reputation and was just wonderful. Everything tasted freshly cooked and tender, with really deep spice flavours but no big chilli hits, which was a nice change. I especially liked the eggplant dish. Im sure if you asked for the dishes hotter the chef would add a few more chillies for you. We spent just over $120 for four, which I thought was very reasonable and we were more than stuffed! The portion sizes were substantial compared to other Indian restaurant who often charge a fortune for a small Balti dish. I was delighted that the Indian matre-d came up to genuinely ask how we were enjoying our meal as I had the opportunity to share my very positive feedback. I would describe it as a small and friendly restaurant with quality and carefully prepared food.A definite hit with me. Ill be going back.PS I never ever do this review thingy, but felt compelled to tonight. Hope you enjoy it as much as me.
Amazing flavour, friendly service. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it!
A rare gem. With the dining out experiences very limited in Seaforth, this place is a godsend. Well cooked Indian cuisine (a rare thing in itself in Sydney), good value, respectable wine list and great service, its no wonder it is packed just about every night. Thoroughly recommended.Food : 13/20Wine : 13/20Service : 17/20Ambience : 17/20Overall : 15/20
The service is friendly, attentive and sincere. There was obviously a lot of regular diners here when we ate, they were wished merry Christmas and had the door opened for them as they left. They did the same for us. We were here after an afternoon at manly and it was spontaneous. Without a booking the place was full but they took our mobile number and called us when table was ready (within 20 mins) so we could have a small walk. The food was excellent but the helpful welcoming service is sadly a rare thing elsewhere. Excellent dining experience.
