Went here on a public holiday, wasn’t too busy. Waited to be seated for 10 minutes and then decided to take a seat. Waited another 20 minutes with no acknowledgement that we existed. Right before I started to have an existential crisis, we decided to leave. Phew! Crisis averted.
This is a beautifully presented cafe that is funky with a positive vibe that attracts passersby. Unfortunately, this is as good as it gets. I recently visited this cafe on a bustling Saturday morning. It was busy but we were seated immediately and given a menu. We then waited for over twenty minutes before we called a waitress over to take our order. We were told that someone would come soon but waited a further ten minutes before politely enquiring as to when we could place our order. Shortly after this the manager appeared and advised us that we could expect a further one hour wait for any food and that if this wasn’t suitable then we should go elsewhere. The service was appalling and I have never experienced such terrible customer service from a manager before. We left at that point vowing never to return so I can’t comment on the quality of the food.
Go elsewhere! Very poor customer service (waited an hr) and average food (over cooked poached eggs). Very disappointed with our experience here and will not come back.
The interior of the cafe was probably one of the best in Berry, that explains why we chose to have lunch here. The service and the waiting time for the food were ok. I ordered the club sandwich. Chicken is juicy and cooked well. The lettuce, tomato and avocado are very fresh. The mayo has a lovely taste too. Bread wasn’t that good. But overall, it’s an ok dish considering it’s a cafe in a very small town. So quite surprised with the bad reviews. wandereatntell.wordpress.com
Terrible. Would never eat at this cafe again. I simply wanted toast for breakfast and after paying seven dollars I expected more than just old dried out wonder white bread with a drop of peanut butter to spread. You guys should go to one of the bakeries in Berry and buy some of that amazing bread, toast it and serve it.
Awful! Had brunch here as a table of 4. The spoon that came on one person’s coffee was filthy, encrusted with gunk and the remnants of someone else’s drink. A napkin was smeared with something green and otherwise unidentifiable. The food itself was substandard. The Eggs Benedict were a sorry affair. They had run out of smoked salmon so had to substitute with ham. The Hollandaise sauce was a congealed glob clinging to the eggs. The bacon and eggs were similarly disappointing. The bacon was dripping in fat and a cheap cut on flimsy white toast. Drinks were no better either. The chai latte was a flavourless cup of lukewarm milk. Hot chocolate was synthetic and undrinkably sweet. Coffee was ok.
Lady at counter was rude when I was about to place my order. Asked for breakfast menu and she snapped breakfast is not servered now. She could of offered us the lunch menu.
