Advertised as the best fish and chip shop in the state, we ordered the Seafood basket + flathead & chips, however food was as good as any fish and chip shop. Customer service could’ve been better as we were not given any table water and were standing around awkwardly before asking staff if we could sit at the table.

The Shoalhaven region is absolutely beautiful.  I was introduced to some of the most gorgeous venues in Shoalhaven by Destination NSW. Next up is lunch at Pelican Rocks Cafe where they have won for the past years – BEST FISH AND CHIPS in NSW. That’s a huge claim.

Voted Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice for best fish and chips in NSW in 2017 and 2018 respectively, Pelican Rocks Cafe is legitimately Australia’s Best fish and Chips and we can attest to that. The fact that they use fresh caught local produce is a big reason why they have the best fish and chips. Super fresh and you can choose the type of fish, it is lightly battered inside delicious flesh, white flakey and melts in your mouth. The chips are crisp and nicely seasoned. This place is great value with huge servings and fresh produce. The mixed seafood baskets were impressive as was their prawn Salad.

We had the famed seafood basket. Wouldn’t say it’s anything to write home about, the prawns were clearly thawed and nowhere near fresh. The fish and calamari were actually really good – the fish had a honey glaze which went really well with it. Pushed up to 3.5 for that! Coffee was good.

Great beakfast / lunch cafe downstairs. Just had beautiful fish, calami and chips at the cafe down stairs. Best calamari ever and wonderful friendly attentive service.
