Great pub for dinner and a few beers outside in the summertime. Food takes hours to come out but if you’re prepared to wait, it’s a great little spot for family/friends to hang out in the sun. Staff are friendly, the beer selection is expansive and exactly the place you want to end up at the end of a scorcher.
Atmosphere is great here and so is the view but the food is a bit hit and miss. The steak we had was over cooked and overpriced. The fish and chips is not a good option; though the chips are good, the fish is DRY and tasteless. The winner on the menu is definitely the American Burger.
Great view, not so great food.. 1 x schnitzel and 1 x flathead tails, typical pub menu and was hoping for something good given the reviews. However these reviews were mostly dated a couple of years ago….Was pricy as far as a pub feed goes for two people (I get annoyed with places that charge extra for gravy etc!), and neither of us were overly happy with the meal. Mind you it wasn’t BAD, however it was far from fantastic. Place is very dim inside too, so not the best atmosphere. The staff were great though which is a plus.Would give it another go however, but perhaps on a weekend rather than mid-week to see if that makes a difference.
Hedys restaurant at Shoal haven heads hotel. Having been awarded, I thought let’s give it a go. Bad idea, poor choices and quality is not there, neither is value for money, hey the chips and gravy are good! maybe should have had a few more drinks like the leg less locals I saw!
