Firstly, the lack of recent reviews gives nothing to reasonably compare this one. The more negative ones are literally years old. Not my best meal ever, but it would be in the top ten. The Kingfish entree was fresh and tasty, good start. The scallops with pork belly cooked perfectly and the salted caramel parfait rounded off a very enjoyable meal. Friendly professional staff and correct course timing made for a nice experience.

There’s not many places opened in Pokolbin on a Wednesday morning for breakfast. The Mill is. The restaurant has a nice warming ambience with a great view over some local vineyards. The staff are friendly and polite. We chose to have the hot breakfast buffet. It was cold, scrambled eggs looked and tasted like they’d been sitting out overnight, fresh bacon came out was cold and so was the tomato and mushrooms. Disappointing.

An enjoyable lunch. Quiet, peaceful. What you want on a visit to the Hunter. We had 2 courses for $65 which became $75 as it was the Saturday of Easter long weekend and a surcharge put on bill. A little more than I thought the lunch was worth but not crazily bad value. My partner and I shared entree of scallop with pork jowl (scallops cooked perfectly and jowl was super soft and fatty) and pork belly with tuna. Would have liked more tuna. Generous amount of pork belly for an entree but it was a bit too fatty for my liking and got a bit too much. The salad on the side helped to freshen the dish and give balance to fat. For mains we had the lamb backstrap and pork neck. The pork was a really large piece of meat and I thought it was a little too dry. The octopus was great though. I enjoyed the vegetables and condiments on the dishes more than the meat which suited my partner who got to eat the majority of the meat. We shared a side of potatoes. Nice and crispy. Good flavour. Maybe a little too much oil on the plate. Our friends ordered soup of the day which they thought was very tasty, hearty and could be a meal in itself if it had come with bread on the side. They also had seafood of the day which was crispy skinned Barramundi. Skin was definitely crispy and fish cooked perfectly. Service was ok. .

Nice restaurant, great ambience, bordering fine dining.I had the scallop entree which was delicious however my main which was lamb was just okay.

Amazing entreés // we tried two of the entries, the seared scallops and crispy skin pork belly. The scallops were cooked perfectly and went well with the sauces served with it, but my favourite was definitely the crispy pork belly, not because the pork was tasty and the skin was perfectly crackled, but because of the tuna tataki. The tuna and the pork just tasted so well together and was quite unexpected. The sous-vide wagyu beef was also quite well cooked, it had quite a smokey, seared flavour. All the vegetables combined together to make the perfect dish. Great flavours and textures! The desserts were good but i would say they’re definitely share dishes, if i were to have one myself i would feel extremely sick because of how sweet they were.
