Broke Fordwich is a beautiful region of the Hunter Valley.  It’s not congested and the people are lovely. The scenery was so beautiful.  Seeing the vineyards with the mountain ranges in the background was amazing! Yellow rock is the big rock that makes that picture perfect. For more areas to explore in the Broke Fordwich Region, check out these wineries.  I will also post some more in part 3.. watch this space. Check out Part 1 of my Broke adventure here Stomp! Wines The owners at Stomp! Wines were so friendly and had a beautiful family.  Being a former Sydney Sider family, they have transformed their lives to now living on such a beautiful winery!  There is also accommodation here if you are looking for a place to stay. At  Stomp!  Wines for $6, I tried a trio of wine which complimented with Hunter Valley chocolates. The highlight for me was the sparking Verdelho. It was a pleasant rare taste of the sparking Verdelho; I’ve never seen this before so it was refreshing to see some innova

Pros: Beautiful views; Friendly service; Lovely wine; Large portion sizes; Attached villas a delight to stay in. Cons:The food unfortunately.Entrée: ‘Seared scallops & twice cooked pork belly w/ soy ginger glaze’.Scallops & pork both overcooked (no excuse as we were the only diners). No flavourful sticky glaze, more like a unexciting thin sauce underneath, which did not tie the scallops & pork together.Mains: ‘Beef fillet w/ red wine jus’ was not cooked as requested (medium well instead of medium rare), but had a very flavourful jus.’Chicken breast stuffed with sage & salted breadcrumbs w/ herb pinenut cream’ was cooked well (moist), but had ZERO seasoning in sauce or chicken. I could not taste the stuffing, requested salt, & even borrowed some of my partner’s jus to give the dish some flavour.Dessert: ‘Chef’s own creme brûlée with a tuile wafer & fresh berries’. A grainy vanilla brûlée with some obviously frozen (mushy) berries & no tuile wafer.Quite expensive ($36 mains), definitely worth eating elsewhere when staying in the lovely villas if the chef stays on.

By the time we arrived, we were absolutely starving! Thankfully our entrees arrived swiftly and my poached pear salad was exactly what I was craving. Batons of crunchy Williams pear contrasting with the soft, sweet poached pears with fetta wrapped in prosciutto, diced tomatoes and a drizzle of sticky balsamic vinegar. Definitely a salad I’d try and recreate at home 🙂 The boy enjoyed his tender twice cooked pork belly and crispy crackling.
