This is an amazing place for lunch in Thredbo, the staff was very friendly and professional the food was amazing, i will say its a little pricey but you are in the snow so if you remember that the bill won’t shock you. Highly recommend.
As the number one TA place in Thredbo, I was curious how this breakfast and lunch cafe was going to be. Considering the (very) small village I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone ate (or at least ordered their coffee) at this central cafe. Once I walked past and actually saw the menu printed outside, I could see why. The lunch options looked excellent and showcased the Asian influence that did seem almost slightly unexpectedly out of place in a small part of Australia (although I accept there’s quite a lot of traffic especially during snow season).
Great Food, Awesome Service. We had a delicious meal here during the Thredbo summer season. You can always tell a great restaurant by where the locals eat and Central Road didn’t let us down. Despite visiting with a busy 1 year-old, the service was exceptional and they catered for our daughters whim without even asking. This included the chef offering to make something up for her and bringing plastic cups for play and water. Despite a small summer menu, it was varied and absolutely delicious. We ate the specialty Polish sausage pasta with Brie and sauerkraut as well as a Caesar wrap. We initially had food envy when seeing and smelling the laksa which is apparently the chefs speciality cuisine. We highly recommend Central Road and will to visit again when in the mountains.
Bad service!. Went there on a Monday at 4:04 pm and was told they were closed even though there were customers sitting there still awaiting their coffees and all I wanted was a quick take away coffee. The staff just brushed me away while they were still serving others. Would not go there
