The best part about Eagles Nest Cafe was, that it was situated right at the top of the mountain. It is said to be the highest restaurant in Australia. The place was expected to be crowded and so it was. We clicked amazing pictures while we were waiting for a table. Since we were not hungry, we satisfied ourselves with a hot coffee which was a great relief while we were freezing. The staff was friendly and gave us enough time while we were enjoying the great views.Food – 3/5Service – 3/5Ambience – 4/5Value for Money – 3/5
Sorry. Too expensive for cafe simple food badly cooked. Poor menu options so we looked around and only saw fried food. Not appealing Had an milk shake, thick they forgot to put in the favouring.
Had the set menu as part of the annual Thredbo Bluesfest Music Festival. Great location, fabulous food, music was sensational, food was disgusting barely edible and for $59 for two courses was extortionate. Would have been a total waste had it not been a setting for part of the Bluesfest music which was paid for separately with our festival ticket.Don’t ever eat here
A bit outdated fit out, but other than that very pleasant experience. Friendly service and good selection of food and drink for reasonable prices considering that the closest competition is far far away.
A magical journey to the snow would not be complete without a meal at the highest restaurant in Australia, Eagles Nest at Thredbo. After a long and beautiful chair-lift up the mountain, we went for a 4km walk to the Mt. Kosciusko lookout, and then were more than ready for lunch.
