This cafe was a regular of mine and changed hands about a year or so ago. I visited last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find it was still delicious. The menu is simple, but with lots of delicious, well priced things on offer. Service is fairly quick and they always seem consistently busy. I had eggs Benedict with a homemade hash brown which I thought was a nice touch. My only gripe was I would have liked more hollandaise sauce. My partner had scrambled eggs which were fluffy and the biggest serving of butter on the side I’ve ever seen. A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Springwood.
While the service was okay, the food was a disappointment. My partner got the pie of the day with chips, and I got a toasted sandwich with avocado, tomato, and cheese. Sandwich was bland with no seasoning and the bread wasn’t toasted properly. While this kind of meal can be forgiven slightly since it’s already a pale mix of ingredients, the pie was the worst. Pastry was like wet cardboard and again was very bland. Chips were undercooked and oily, lacking salt. Seating inside is fair and open. It’s just a shame the food is t up to scratch. Would love to give it another chance sometime though as there is potential.
Definitely the best place to go in Springwood for breakfast. Avo smash I’d delicious or build your on breaky plate. Nice juices and coffee. Good service. Sometimes hard to get a table at peak times
Wonderful service and the pie of the day (chicken and mushroom) was absolutely delicious!!! Only small so you need to be lucky to get a table during peak hours. Will definitely come back.
Great food! Really fresh – can take a while to serve but always worth the wait.I love their chocolate milkshakes. Its really thick and frothy. I’ve also tried their BLT which is so fresh and delicious
