Had a dinner at new neighbourhood. Was told that this place is good from couple of my friends and we decided to have a test. We had four people and the place was half empty. We were guided to a table, all looks pretty fancy as indian place. Ordered prawn and samosas for starters. Prawns were deep fried and tasted like bananas?? .. and samosa was filled with really dry mince. Not nice. Curries we ordered were; beef vindaloo, cinnamon chicken and butter chicken. They were really nice, but only butter chicken tasted as expected.. vindaloo had no vindaloo taste and cinnamon curry tasted coriander… so, belly got full but was not happy with taste. Have definitely had better indian even at food court level. Also need to mention that owner(?) who was behind the desk getting payments.. please try to smile. Doesnt cost anything to try.Never again. No pictures this time, no point for those.
Has been inconsistent the last few times. Needs to lift their game – seems the staff are all new; new menu = new chef I would guess.Small expensive portions used to be acceptable because od the quality. $12.90 for two small samosas is not value particularly if they are nothing special.Lemon Ginger chicken was way way too salty. Fish curry was great as usual but the portion again is tiny. Pumpkin goathi was average. Butter chicken was ok.I will only return if they become more generous with the servings and lift the quality.
Very good food! Good service! I don’t want to put a better grade because of the inconvenience of the bathrooms being locked and outside of the restaurant. Plus the owner (the woman) has been very rude and not welcoming !
This place makes really quality Indian food. Portion sizes are average towards generous. Quite a diverse menu. It was great to finally have a vindaloo that was hot! Not easy to find in most restaurants nowadays as people are too scared. The naan was good as an appetiser. Service is good too although the waitstaff argued amongst one another about adding up my bill correctly. Only negative feedback would be on price – $60 for two people seems inaccurate and whilst food was quality I don’t think it justified the price. Would consider returning however.
Best Indian on the north shore! It’s a little more expensive but so worth it! And the service and presentation for take away meals is excellent.
Raw Chicken. There was a group of 8 of us, We all decided to order single meals which were quite overpriced for the size that came out. We stated that we didnt want starters. The waiter came back to the table after taking our orders and offered pappadums. It was a mistake in accepting as they added $30 to the bill for average pappadums. Anyways our mains arrive and my pregnant friend receives chicken that is raw inside. Upon sending it back she asks to swap to Butter Chicken. When the bill arrived we had the shock of our lives. The soft drinks we ordered but never arrived were on the bill. The price of the pappadums, They added more people for corkage than were actually drinking. They also charged my pregnant friend the full price of the butter chicken, when her first meal was half the price and raw. When asked about the bill, the manager only removed two people from corkage giving a discount of Total of $4. The manager was unapologetic for serving raw chicken to a pregnant woman, and it all become a case of them cheating us out of our money. Never returning.
To hot. I have been hear lots of times in the past 10 years. But the air con never works. If you like going out in your beach gear then you mite stand the heat. They are bizzy and the food is good but when you go out for a meal for the evening and try to support the local store it would be good if the air con worked and it was cooler inside then out.
