The manager catered really well for all dietary requirements and served us a lovely meal. Things you must have – batata vada, veg kohlapuri and paneer tikka masala.
Since the last 3 years, I have been on a quest to find restaurant food (in Sydney) that genuinely represents India. Finally, I’ve found it.Shriya’s offers a selection of delicacies from the Western and Northern parts of India. Unlike most restaurants in Sydney, the food isn’t prepared to suit the local taste buds in order to maintain authenticity. As a regular visitor here, I’m a fan of their combo lunches during the weekdays. A choice of vegetarian, chicken, lamb or seafood curry along with rice and daal serves up to be an adequate meal, and the best part about this place is that the owner insists on food being made fresh for every guest that walks in through the door. Although you have to wait for the food to be served for quite a while, the piping hot delicious food is worth it. I am yet to try a lot of the dishes on the menu but these would be my strong recommendations so far – 1) Chicken Biryani (a must-have)2) Mini Lamb Combo (only served during lunch from Mon-Wed)3) Dal Makhani4) Pav Bhaji5) Kheema Pav6) Vegetable KolhapuriThe restaurant owner is courteous and hence the overall service is prompt and pleasant. Hands down, this is the best homely food I’ve had in Sydney.Ratings:Food – 9/10Ambience – 7/10Service – 9/10Value for money – 8/10
