The best Thai restaurant in the West. I don’t mind the long driving to St Marys just to dine in this restaurant. Everything is cooked to perfection by this couple (owners). If you’re looking for real Thai cooking, this is the only place I know of, considering I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants around over the years. Home Thai Cooking feeling indeed! The Petit Thai Cuisine cooks everything from scratch and when you taste the food, you can feel that there’s so much love put in the cooking. Their sweet and sour fish (whole fish btw) is to die for, and you can choose other sauces for this dish. Their spring rolls are deadly yum-yum. Their version of BBQ chicken is my all time favourite.The food is not pricey considering their servings. I cannot simply find fault. I eat with my eyes first, and all their servings, by far, are great to look at. It will really induce you to sit, relax and enjoy the food. The only problem I noticed is that once you dined in this restaurant, you will start disliking other Thai restaurants because Petit Thai Cuisine is unique. I have only spoken many times to the wife (each time I visit this restaurant since 2002) but have not seen her husband because he does all the cooking himself. Even though he got a few assistants now, to prepare the ingredients, the husband controls the actual cooking of the food. Unfortunately, they were not blessed with children to pass on their skills so pretty much, as when this couple decided to retire, they told me they will sell the business — which is a great loss to St Mary’s business district, indeed.
