A hidden gem, with excellent coffee. They roast their own coffee on the premises and it’s the best in sydney if you like a full roast. They have coffee beans to buy as well, you just have to ask. So If you are a coffee snob, this is the place to try.
The location of this cafe is further away than the main cluster of cafes near the station but conveniently has a bus stop in front of it making it ideal for a hot beverage before your commute into the city.Service was fine but not overly friendly. Think the guy serving me was probably go through the motions. You order and pay at the counter. I was hoping to get a more lunch orientated meal however the menu shows it more skewed towards an all day breakfast/brunch so the menus on here are quite out of date. I chose the Purple Eggs which were served with bacon and toast (wasn’t offered a choice so ended up with soy & linseed). The food was nice and eggs were soft though as I have a jar of beetroot relish at home I wouldn’t think this dish would be too hard to recreate. The Mocha I had was smooth and nice on the palate. They are known for roasting their own beans here so expected the coffee to be top notch which it was.
I love this place. It is about 300 m from other closer cafes but I go the extra distance because nowhere does coffee like Peter. It’s not only the coffee that I love but the chicken salad, in fact any of the salads are outrageously big and incredibly yummy.
