Cafe selling some really great looking cakes to take home or pastry goods to eat in with your morning coffee. Relatively run down in terms of its decor but the food and cakes look great. Close to the station, you can eat in or sit outside as many people were. I got a takeaway croissant, had just been taken out of the oven so was extremely crisp and fresh. aroundtheclockfoodie.com

On my way to visit some friends & wanted to pick up some morning tea. Seeing this is Koreatown thought I’ll try a Korean cake shop. The cakes at Rainbow Cakes looked nice & very tempting, but I just want something light so opted for the Swiss roll. There were no price sign on any of the cakes on display. I was shocked when the shop lady told me the price, and had to ask her to repeat it! It was $18.50! For a Swiss Roll! It better be out of this world! It was different to a normal one, it was very dense, the roll was really heavy. The cake was somewhere between a normal cake & a mud cake consistency. The mocha cream in the middle was nice & the outside was coated in some type of cereal or grain which gave it added texture. Overall a nice Swiss Roll, but it was still a Swiss Roll, and I will certainly not pay $18 for another one.

The cakes here taste fresh and better than chain bakeries (85degrees, Breadtop, michel’s patisserie)Their coffee cake is my fave – it has a good cake to cream ratio and chocolate coffee beans on top.

My favourite place to get coffee in Strathfield (tried all the other shops and they’re all gross/inconsistent quality). Really delicious cakes, pies and pastries! I love their Fresh Cream Buns, Custard Doughnuts and Strawberry & Fresh Cream Cake.

Home to my favourite Strawberry and fresh cream cake. Light and fluffy sponge with airy whipped cream and sweet strawberries. This is a no frills, no gimmicks cake for all occasions. If there is no cause for celebrations, you can simply get the roll version, which IMO, is even better as a light dusting of icing sugar tops it off! Sweet, sweet, strawberries & cream memories…

Hands down the best donuts in strathfield. Sadly, the donut game in this suburb is not strong but if you have a craving, the custard filled is the way to go. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable but there isn’t a great deal of variety and it’s not in a great location to sit and enjoy a coffee with your cake. Still, it’s a good little reliable bakery. atrueloveofmine.com
