A great selection of craft beers (hop hog, whale ale) and pub classics (VB and Guinness – my personal fave), the closest a pub burger has come to the quality of a specialty burger joint, and not a bad outdoor courtyard either. If you’re in the area, and craving a cold one, you’ll enjoy this.

Food is abit pricey before you even order. The atmosphere is the pub is very dull, the most happening part of the pub is the tab and the regular punters yelling at horses. The outdoor section has massive potential yet this place just never sees a crowd. I must say the only thing that this place has done right is have max music playing throughout the place so you are garenteed a a 70’s or 80’s countdown, and that’s about it. (Not sure if it happens anymore) but there used to be acoustic sessions outside on a Sunday, awesome place to have a few for a Sunday sesh.Either way, good for a quick beer but definitely not somewhere to go to get amongst it or meet ur future wife…

Mediocre Meal. I’ve eaten at the Summer Hill 3 times in the last week. I’m staying in the area and it’s convenient. The first 2 meals were OK, just. Tonight I had the pork belly and it was rubbish. Three small pieces of pork belly one of which was all belly and no pork. I let the table staff know it was rubbish and to pass on my comments to the chef. The waiter made all the right noises but there was no feedback from the chef. I can only assume he couldn’t give a rats. The pub itself is nice enough and with the right chef and meals the place could be booming but on a Saturday night and its maybe only half full. Clearly word has got around. There’s plenty of other places to eat within a 100 metres of this place, do yourself a favour and go to one of them.

Arragant , creepy, yuk. Ever since Woolworths AHL Group took over the Hotel it has been a down hill slide.I used to eat there every Monday Night with the Chicken Schnitzel special but that stopped as soon as the new managers increased the prices decreased the serving and allowed the schnitzels to be cooked in the same oil that they cook the fish in.Yuk, when I complained they couldn’t give a flying rats. The staff have the attitude that they are doing the patrons a favor by being there. Thank God these surly bar staff are here to pour me a beer, the only problem is they don’t know how to pour beers.Just wish the place would go away, Summer Hill has two methadone clinics that are far more pleasurable to hang in than this pub

Not Good enough. My wife and I went there as I wanted to try one of the specials.I attempted to order the Sunday roast, and for her the prawn penne. I was told the Sunday roast was sold out at 7pm on a Sunday night. I told my wife I would give them a second chance, the ambiance is good.Instead I ordered the prawn and calamari 5 spice dish. When the meals arrived, my wife said it looked oily. She asked was there any Parmesan. As we ate our meals, things only got worse. The cook clearly has no concept of deep frying. My wife said after her penne she needed wine to cleanse her palette. We wont give them a second chance. Later I searched up ALH Group on the internet. I can only wonder about the management. The salt shaker was clogged.

Nothing Has changed since Andrews review a year ago!. Andrews’ depiction of this place is about as accurate as it could be. The pub is a generally nicely fitted out and the pleasure stops there. I’d like to add to the slow food (took us 45 minutes to get 2 steaks). They don’t understand how you want the steaks (eg: medium rare doesn’t actually bleed into the sauce). The service was unfriendly and when the girl came to collect our plate and was told the meal was awful she walked away ignoring my comment. In conclusion, half the steak couldn’t be digested and ended up wasted. We wont be going back to the place ever again. Shame though it is our local – would love to be able to. It just isn’t worth it.

Nice, airy and bright looking pub but this is where the joy ends. Slow meal, greasy plate that looked as if it had been rinsed, not washed, steak had the lovely flavor of charcoal, cups were soggy and the pepper sauce was unevenly microwaved, leaving gelatinous curdlled bits. Far from one of the best pub meals, probably the worst I’ve had in the last three years. Hard to recommend I’m sad to say.
