One of the best places to get a drink In summer hill. Friendly staff, great variety of drinks at good prices. A cosy vibe and just What summer hill needed. Be sure to go and catch the atmosphere in a lounge, at the bar, on the balcony or out in the courtyard.
Hip little bar that’s always pumping on trivia night. The staff here are really lovely, I always have a laugh at their menu placed in a Barbie book I once had as a child. They hand out little bowls of popcorn which is cute too. It’s a bit pricey so I don’t go to often, but it’s very worth it for a few casual wines and catch ups.
Hidden gem of summer hill, their menus are quite funny put in kids books. The service was incredible, such a lovely bunch of people! and they handed out popcorn! amazing!
This hidden gem is run by a passionate team who sure know how to show you a good time. They go to great lengths to source and showcase some local legends and have some magical concoctions that will make your palettes tingle. .
What a lovely way to spend a night with a couple of friends. The tempo is a classy, high end bar without a hint of snobbishness. Great ambience as you enter and it is filled with sophisticated, pleasant people. Pick a gorgeous wine from a small but thoughtfully selected wine list and order the terrine or the cheese and salumi platter. Both best enjoyed in the upstairs library/den or outside on the balcony – although downstairs is just as good and easier to recharge your glasses. The complementary salted popcorn with olive oil is a nice touch, refreshed regularly by the waiter who is friendly and unobtrusive. A neighbourhood gem.
We went to the temperance Society two weeks ago after having a meal at One Penny Red.The layout inside is very cosy – like being in your own lounge with comfortable leather sofas and old style decor. There are several areas to sit – at the front, upstairs or in the back and I understand courtyard will be opening soon. The staff are very friendly and helpful and managed to find us a seat, even though it was pretty crowded on the Saturday night.Owner Marty is friendly and helpful and gave us complimentary popcorn with our wine. Will no doubt be back soon.
