I have previously tried the famous Melbourne branch of Chin Chins and can definitely say that the Sydney restaurant strongly rivals the quality and service of that of Melbourne!I visited here at a lunch time and can say all the dishes were of good quality, nice sashimi and really loved the dessert! Will be back for more

The food was great. But a few other things made it less than perfect. We got the $70 menu where they serve u a dish from each category on the menu. So each dish we got was a mystery – but whenever we asked what the dish was the staff didnt know and had to go back and check everytime w the kitchen. This was multiple different staff. Jst seemed a bit odd as surely they shld know the dish we are being served and tell us what it is. Desert were magnums. They didnt say chin chin version of aMagnum icecream they jst called them Magnums… we were unsure for a second if they were bought or made! The curry we had in the main dishes was also very small. One half slice of eggplant each for 3 ppl. It was not enough. We ordered a papaya salad on top of the $70 pp menu. This was New Years Day so maybe there too staff had the day off. I would go back, but I wld expect better service next time. Still great flavours and a fun vibe 🙂

Been to the one in Melbourne and I loved it. So I thought Ill try the Sydney one to compare. The menu is identical. I had the king fish sashimi, which I also had in Melb and they were just as good. Fresh, tangy with a bit of bite. For main I had the chargrilled octopus salad. I loved it! Octopus pieces were tender, well charred with a bit of bitterness to it. Only wish they gave me a knife as well as the zucchini pieces were quite big. Otherwise dinner was very enjoyable. They were full and we came on a Monday night, so got a seat at the bar. It just shows how much people loved it. Service were prompt, waiter was polite and attentive.

Absolutely sensational! We had the banquet and it was amazing. Every dish was incredible…hard to pick a favourite. The atmosphere is fabulous….high energy (and loud), so probably not suited to a quiet romantic dinner. Warm, helpful waitstaff..,couldnt fault their service.

Chin Chin has a super fun and lively atmosphere and the food is spot on! You cant book so try going early to get a table. Even on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was packed out! I opted for the chargrilled octopus which was really fresh and tasty, and also the fried squid was tender and light. Beware – everything has chilli!!! Even the watermelon cocktail

This place has definitely become one of my favourite Asian fusion restaurants. My favourite dishes are the chargrilled brisket, which was really juicy and soft, the rotisserie pork belly with fennel and the butter chicken curry which was really delicious. I also enjoyed the wok fried spanned crab omelette, the stir fry prawn, bug tail egg noodle and the pad seuw of braised wagyu beef. For dessert, I really really loved the Vietnamese iced coffee panna cotta and the black stick rice with coconut custard. The service was great and to avoid the queues, either get there early or go for lunch.
