Their wholemeal bread is something I’ve been searching for in a sandwich shop – tasty with body but still soft – and I’ll probably come back because of that, but the sandwich didn’t live up to the bread. They have a wide variety of sandwiches on the board and a lot of good-looking things in the counter (and they do make the sandwiches pretty thick) but the ingredients are pretty standard in variety and quality and barely justify $9-$12 for a sandwich. I also found some bits of bone in my chicken sandwich. The coffee was weak and frothy but at least it only cost $3. There are a few tables in the nice interior and it was pretty quiet at 10:30am.

City Edge Cafe is a quaint sandwich shop situated along Reservoir St in Surry Hills. We came in the morning and it was not too busy and service was relatively quick. We ordered the sweet potato lentil pattie sandwich ($8), Kale cleanser (L: $6) and the Juice of the Week (L: $6). The juices were both refreshing and we liked them both. The sandwich was the highlight of our meal. The bread was thick and soft and all components of the sandwich worked well together. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

The lines are intimidating and you’ll question more than once why you’re lining up to get a sandwich! Mind you, itll be a damn good sandwich. The chicken and pumpkin soup will also make you go weak at the knees. eatplaylovetravel.com.au

I love this fast food joint! Healthy salads and wraps! The guy at the counter is so lovely and is always polite. Haloumi and chicken salads are good value and are always generous portions.

I love this place. Their Vietnamese chicken schnitzel banh mi is delicious. Their salads are huge and amazing value, packed full of yummy things. Anything with the sweet potato pattie in it is good. The veggie burger is amazing as well, almost bursting at the seams with a range of veggies, haloumi and sweet potato. After trying sandwich shops and cafes in this area searching for somewhere that is delicious, reasonably priced and within a quick walk from my work this place has taken the cake.Another thing that separates these guys from the other lunch joints in the area is how nice the staff are.Check City Edge out – you won’t regret it.

What a super sandwich!. As a visitor to Sydney wondering the Surry Hills neighbourhood I stumbled across this caf and was I glad I did!The vast array of sandwiches on offer is dazzling and I settled on the chicken, avocado, tomato, cheese toasted Turkish bread.Outstanding customer service from the guy who served me and as I sat waiting I was further impressed by his manner with every customer… very friendly, helpful and charming. How is it possible to be so excited by the humble sandwich but it was quite possibly the most delicious I have ever had? Generous in the fillings used, perfectly toasted and presented nicely on a plate to eat.No wonder people sing the praises of City Edge Caf….all well deserved. As a visitor to Sydney…one of many memorable experiences.
