These guys are great and that make a good coffee. Ive not had a chance to eat the food here yet but I want to. The staff are lovely and the menu simple and if youre in the area and need a decent coffee then Dozo is the place to go.

This is the sweetest little Japanese cafe with hand drawn and illustrated specials (as you might typically find in Japan). It was freezing out so I dropped in for a warming green tea matcha latte. It was milky and the matcha flavour mild, but enjoyable nonetheless. And it’s hardly going to break the bank at $3.30.

I was eager to try the green tea latte from here, being a Japanese coffee shop and all. Plus the cafe is cosy and cute, and staff are nice, so I really did want to like it. Unfortunately the moment I had my first sip, I was hit with a wave of disappointment. It wasn’t just average or your standard green tea latte, it was actually really bad. Hardly any matcha taste, but more like milk mixed with water in a very horribly mixed powdery-liquid form. Lady making it asked if I wanted sugar (to which I said no) but in all honesty, despite the lack of sweetness being a factor, don’t think it would have helped in this situation.I actually liked everything else about the place so wish I could say something positive, but unfortunately this is the nicest way I can put it. Hopefully it was just a one off, or perhaps the coffee is much better, because the place really is sweet.

Run by the loveliest Japanese owners. So they have some Japanese food on their menu like Seaweed & Tofu salad. And they do the best Matcha Latte (green tea)!
