Intrigued by their kogashi-style (burnt) ramen, I came here twice to try both of their kogashi ramens. The Kogashi Shoyu ramen had a very thick oil layer with grey-brown lard/scum floating on top of their thick soup base (pretty sure that scum should have been sieved out) – probably way too much oil and salt for my personal preferences, as each strand of ramen tasted like it was coated in oil and I was dying from thirst afterwards. Whilst still with a similar thick soup base, the Kogashi Miso ramen was much more balanced in terms of flavour and with (slightly) less oil/lard as well as salt.Their ramen are definitely not something to eat on a regular basis… more of a occasional (or rare) treat, ideal on a cold winter’s night.
