The food looks tasty and I have heard great things. I came in to try it out since it is just around the corner from home. On first accounts it looked very cosy with charm. Too bad the staff are rude and don’t return your change. Lovely place that could be enjoyable otherwise.
Pretty dissappointed in the food here. Seemed like what you would get in a camp place. Very basic food, heavily priced. I can say the tacos were really nice though but not very fulfilling. $8 for one small taco. You can go to contrabando for unlimited tacos with a Groupon voucher.
Really fun vibe with the cool decor here. The menu is full of fun American and Caribbean flavours. The fried chicken, grilled corn and burgers were all excellent. As was the jerk chicken, even if it lacked the kick I was expecting. The bar tended was outraged when I asked to substitute gin for vodka in one of the cocktails, but in his defense it was delicious. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet, so if you want a chilled afternoon that’s the day to go.
Incredibly average, actually below average.Came in here for dinner and a drink with workmates and got extremely rude service when I asked if I could pay extra to swap chips for sweet potato ones (many places let you do this) just got a flat NO and said I’d have to buy the $9 chips in addition to the already expensive burger, why would I want a burger, chips and sweet potato chips for one person. He actually made me feel embarrassed for asking! So I decided to get the salad instead and it was pathetic and over priced for a few bits of lettuce, ONE piece of feta in the whole salad and some chicken. $25 later and still had to buy food on the way home as it didn’t even make a dent.
What a great pub – nice atmosphere, great staff and a specials menu worth coming back for. Jerk chicken was the best I have tasted and with a generous serving. Will be back when I am less rushed.
Great venue for lunchtime burgers and after work drinks. Service is always on point; bar service is fast and there is frequent clearing of empty glassware from tables.
Chicken was good. Lamb was good. Just small and very pricy for what it was. We thought it’d be enough to feed each of us. Left hungry. Drinks weren’t that cheap either. Decent tasting nibblies at an extreme price.
