Solid burgers and fries. A mate and I cleaned up and ordered one of all the burgers on the menu and struggled to finish lol. The brioche was a little to buttery and rich. Loved the beef burgers, Mac and cheese was good but would prefer it in a combo burger. Great service guys keep it up
Don’t always judge a pub by its facade, because sometimes (not always) it might turn out to be a gem despise scruffy exterior. I never felt the temptation to visit this pub but after exhausting all options in Surry Hills for a first time experience, we popped in Bat and Ball for a quick drink. Apart from lager on tap, there is also a good selection of craft beer. For a pint of craft beer (New Towner) and a glass of wine, it’s $18, not bad by Surry Hills standard.The interior and random objects suggest this is an English themed pub – large London Underground network map on one end and dartboard on the other. Multiple mounted TV screens were showing different sports channels. A whiff of roast meat travelled pass me and landed on the table next to us. Boy they looked good with all the trimmings. Apart from Sunday roast, most weeknights they offer $11.90 special meal. Next time I am too lazy to cook, this could be a cheap and cheerful option. thernbdiary.com
Really enjoy the bat & ball for pre game drinks and food. There english $20 lamb/pork roast specials on the weekend are quality and definitely worth getting.
Used to go in once a week, every Monday for the All You Can Eat Wings for $10. That stopped as soon as they made it All You Can Eat Wings for $10 (with a drink purchase). Most of the time I would buy a drink with them anyway, but I dislike pubs upping the price or changing the deal as soon as they realise they can make a few extra dollars per order. The wings are great, but I will be skipping this place purely on principle.
Located on the corner of Cleveland street and South Dowling, right next to the SCG, this place is perfect for a pre game meal. The menu is quite extensive for a pub and there are weekly specials too. We ordered the Big Daddy’s BBQ platter which was the special for the night. It was only $18 and it was enough to share for two, loaded with baby back ribs, fried chicken, pork and hot wings. My New Local. What an amazing pub. Food is exceptional. Just moved in and are without some appliances so have been having our dinners at The Bat & Ball. Full flavoured and consistent quality meals. Staff are the most pleasant I’ve come across and their Dram Club is such a great idea & experience. The clientele is varied, families, business types etc. which makes for a very warm and familiar atmosphere. Cheers!
