This restaurant has such amazing and authentic Italian food. We had not eaten such great Italian food in a long time!It also has a great location in Surry Hills and the staff were also so friendly.Make sure you order a pasta as, they are all homemade and delicious! The pizza here is also unbelievable and will definitely satisfy you!The ambience of the restaurant is warm, friendly and also trendy. The music was also a bonus, lots of 80s classics!
Overall a nice Italian joint. The pizza base was nice and thin but the shells were left on the pizza which made it a bit hard to eat. The carbonara was average, it needed a bit of salt for some more flavor. In general, good but nothing spectacular
Extensive italian menu. Enjoyed the zucchini flowers and the burrata entrees. I wouldn’t recommend the white bait here. The pizza base is really good here. Pasta is made fresh. Food is good, service is a bit of a let down. Packed house on a Friday night. A waitress delivered drinks twice to our table which we didn’t order. Long wait for food and assistance.
Great spot in Surry Hills with a fabulous selection of pizzas. The Funghi pizza was super, crispy crust, thin tomato base and it was extremely tasty. Highly recommend the tiramisu, it was just perfect not too rich in alcohol but more than enough to know it was the real deal. Staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic.
Pizza Birra has taken a front row seat on Crown Street for the last twelve years. In that time, they have undoubtedly seen many a pizza restaurant and chain come and go. Longevity doesnt come without getting something right, especially in competition-heavy Surry Hills, so I headed on in to find out what it was… Im not sure its the music; though I did gain a new appreciation for Michael Jackson on the night I dined. Good acoustic panelling makes the wall-to-wall Jackson back catalogue sound warm rather than bouncy, no mean feat in what is essentially a concrete and glass space with polished aggregate floors. We ease into the evening with a glass of free wine, because its Tuesday, and every diner is gifted with one. The House White ($7) is a surprisingly acceptable New Zealand sauvignon blanc Im surprised because I hate the varietal almost uniformly. This one has no cat pee; no gooseberry bush; and no burpy passionfruit. Were also treated to…
The Salsiccia el porcini pork pizza was amazing along with the zucchini flowed stuffed with ricotta 🙂 My favourite dish by far was the home made ravioli with goat cheese but they were only running it as a special. Fingers crossed it will make it as a regular menu dish 🙂
Felt like Italian so we tried Pizza Birra and it was so good! We ordered a funghi pizza and beef ragu papparadelle. The funghi pizza has the classic Italian thin crust with generous amounts of mushrooms. The dough was delicious and chewy. The paparadelle had excellent texture and cooked al dente the way it should always be. The beef ragu was superb.. melt in the mouth and flavourful. We also had the lamb skewer started but that was just ave. Fully recommend and will be back. thenextrushmagazine.com
