This cute cafe located on Crown Street in Surry Hills seems to pull in a crowd as it was completely packed when we arrived and we waited for table to become available. Once we were seated, the staff immediately brought water to the table. The service is friendly and welcoming here. We ordered our drinks and food. Whilst the all day menu is quite succinct it should appeal to most people. Each menu item seems quite simple but once the food is brought out, each dish is thoughtfully composes and each ingredient is on the dish for a reason. They use their own blend of coffee and it was definitely a smooth blend. I had their Egg Royale, Cheese Frittata, Leg Ham, Fetta & Relish Foccacia. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and made for a wonderful brunch item. The frittata had a nice cheese flavour to it and when it’s dunked into the relish it was oh so tasty. My friends agreed that the dishes they had were equally delightful. It’s well worth a detour here and if it’s your neighbourhood local then you’re in for a treat.
A great little corner coffee shop in Crown Street, Surry Hills. It’s everyone friendly, bring you dog, your kid and dare I say it even your mother. With a menu to suit any diner and a comfortable environment with outdoor seating that suits bringing your puppy for your morning brunch. The vibe here is cool, watch the passers by whilst you chat.
Called in for a coffee just before closing at 3pm.We we’re welcomed and offered a seat and sparkling water straight up.We had our standard Cappuccino and a flat white. The Latte Art was on point. The coffee was smooth but did lack depth of flavour but certainly not offensive. A nice safe coffee, not too heavy or overly robust. The menu looked interesting and will certainly be back to try the food.
First, there was the Gnome Cafe. For years and years. I always thought it was cute: a compact place, busy but you could get a seat with some effort, serving great coffee. Then it was taken over by Brewtown for a short time. And now it seems to have become Royale Specialty, ‘Surry Hill’s first espresso bar devoted to serving only natural process coffee.‘
