Really average. Asparagus tempura are soggy. Which is a big drop on the standard. The wagyu is no where near the best ones we had in the pass. Nothing…

Sasaki is a small intimate restaurant that serves authentic Japanese food. It is located at a rather discrete location though, I got lost looking for the restaurant lol. Pictured are gurnard sashimi, clams sake, egg & crab, beef in red wine sauce, veggies dish: tofu, cabbage, persimmon & walnut (perfect dish to make me eat my veggies!) and cauliflower, potato, brussel sprout & pumpkin. Not only were the dishes a delight for the eyes, they were also a delight for the palate
I came here for dinner last week, the venue interior and atmosphere was quite intimate… great for a date night. I was here with 3 other people so we had to order the set menu, I can appreciate all the dishes as they took a lot of care to each ingredient and the quality was really high. However, the flavours were not to my palette, I can understand what they were trying to achieve and they did it well but wasnt for my liking. It was quite subtle for me but the salmon and Wagyu dish was cooked exceptionally though the flavours were average. I think I am more use to stronger Japanese flavours compared to something more traditional or even flat. The highlight of the night was the dessert! Every single dessert on the menu was amazing and I honestly couldnt fault it, I would definitely come back just for the dessert. The service was okay during the night, wasnt the best but I couldnt complain as we didnt really have any issues. Serving sizes were good and price was decent at $80pp for the set menu.
Really average. Asparagus tempura are soggy. Which is a big drop on the standard. The wagyu is no where near the best ones we had in the pass. Nothing special for the dessert. nothing memorable. Disappointed
