An average sushi.Sushi rice was blend and a little softpretty much was like undercook jasmine rice.Bento box was nice, unfortunately the salad a little bit let down.Dumpling was a little oily, and Miso soup was standard package most likely.
The place recently changed its name. Was hoping that finally a decent place walking distance from my work. The place is a flop. The food quality was very bland. Freshness of seafood was concerning as a few pieces being warm certainly disturbed me. They can make dishes as nice as they like but if food is not fresh I’ll stay right away. New owners not. Just a dismal place saving itself from closure.
Definitely one of my more favorited Japanese eateries. Not because it’s the flashiest or the busiest but because it’s the most honest and humble little institution I’ve had the pleasure of eating at.Food and service is always fantastic and made even better by great value for money
Decent little Japanese restaurant on Foveaux St Surry Hills. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box which is a steal for $14. Generous portion of chicken with lovely char grill flavour on the salmon aburi. Fried gyoza, salad, miso and rice.
We have been coming to Siorie for a few years now, it’s not a special occasion kind of restaurant but more your mid week quick dinner venue. From the menu we tried various things such as sashimi combo, bento box or set menu. Sashimi was cut into tiny tiny pieces, katsu was crunchy and not too oily, the best was waygu beef. We never tried sushi rolls but looked pretty good from other tables. Every time we did BYO. Overall a very basic Japanese restaurant for a quick bite during the week. thernbdiary.com
Just up foveaux st in surry hills, I have previously had lunch here before and have had good dining experience. This time I had a catch up with a friend, i decided to order the chicken teriyaki bento box with miso soup, salad, rice, gyoza and chicken teriyaki and salmon sushi. The salmon sushi was very fresh and melted in my mouth as well as the gyoza being cooked well in a soya sauce however the chicken teriyaki was a bit overcooked and tough and burnt on some areas as well as the salad dressing having a orange taste instead of the usual vinegar. We had Saki to accompany the food and some mixed sushi platter. The meal was very filling but it wasn’t as good as I remember it as well as the seating being a bit cramped with the table.
Just downstairs from our office, we love the convenience of Siorie’s takeaway options. Dine-in is a bit pricey for what it is but delicious nonetheless. iatemywaythrough.com
