Every city has a bar that every tourist or expat must go / students who are just starting to explore the bar scene love to go / residents cant help but re-visit from time to time, and this is that spot for Sydney. Drinks are pretty standard here but it occupies a really eye-catching Victorian style building right in the heart of Surry Hills. Each floor has a different vibe and therefore good for a wide range of events including: casual drinks, birthday parties, touristy ventures, and pregames (though its on the pricier side). Its Saturday night is packed with people catching all types of sports games, with each group looking at a different screen that are all pretty much meaningless to someone not familiar with Australian sports. Even though its pretty busy the service is great (especially on the second floor where there are less people). Will recommend if you are in the area or visiting Sydney!
Came here on a Thursday night during happy hr. Great place to try for happy hr drinks. $5 for a craft beer, can’t complain at all. Should have tried the food but left it for the next visit. A good venue for work do at those prices.
The Beer battered flathead is pretty good and I find it a little bit more pricier than other places, but this place is a bit of an icon on Crown Street so you get what you pay for. The pool tables, outdoor balcony looking over the hustle and bustle of the street really make for a good night and are the drawcard for a group gathering in my opinion! thenextrushmagazine.com
