I am not one to really ever do reviews but the food was terrible I ordered a T bone with pepper sauce and it was mushy and gross the sauce didnt taste anything like pepper. My mum who was visiting Sydney ordered the ribs she had food poisoning, needless to say they seem to have been reheated- gross & sloppy. Service & venue was nice enough but food was terrible.
Great location and lovely old building, however some of the food well was below average. The medium-rare steak was cooked well-done and incredibly chewy. The seafood platter was completely inedible apart from the 2 prawns which were nice and the chips were ok. The tiny scallops were clearly just heated straight from a frozen packet and overcooked. The battered fish was slimy and tasted off. My friend ordered some rice balls and they were yummy, so that is good, but I had a sick stomach for the rest of the night from attempting to eat the fish. If your not ordering Guinness, the drinks are expensive, but an overall warm atmosphere inside and smoking area out the front. The waitress girls were nice, but they got yelled at by the lady who runs the show, which wasn’t very good.
This pub offered relatively cheap drinks which was rare in Surry Hills. When we were there, they had $6 pint or $10 jug of Magners Sunday special. Good to sit outside by the pavement or at the bar. Sports channels were available too. Down to earth Irish pub that offered good value drinks and no craft beer gimmick. It might not have a lot of ambience or character but it served purpose if you just wanted to quench your thirst without breaking the bank. thernbdiary.com
Great irish food. Beef & guinness pie is great but so is most of the menu that we have had. Reviews on here should only be kept if current some here are over 5 years old. Every thing changes and I feel these reviews are incorrect.
Cute. Stayed in Surry for the weekend, and stumbled upon this little gem. Great location, and terrific atmosphere. Service is efficient and friendly, Irish accents and all!Vanessa GallowayHunter Valley
Used to have a terrific beef & Guinness pie but the food has gone downhill lately. No longer worth the prices here. At least they have bulmers on tap.
