My friend and I ate at Zushi because we stumbled across it. It is a small but welcoming contemporary Japanese place with lovely interiors. The staffs service was warm, friendly and attentive. We shared the Edamame, Pork Gyoza and one of the sushi rolls. Everything was so fresh and delicately balanced in flavour. Overall, a great experience.
A special japanese cuisine resturant. I have looking for a japanese restarant where i can bring my dog for a long time, this place has a beautiful backyard and a cozy roof top yard. Environment is superb. The resource of sashimi is fresh and tasty.
My sashimi lunch set was a bento box filled with a mix of kingfish, red snapper, salmon and tuna (10 pieces); choice of brown or white rice; gai lan; seaweed salad; pickles and miso soup. The fish was fresh, no sinewy bits in the slices I had. For $20, I thought this was excellent value. Zushi does have some downsides however: the lunch sets are only available during weekdays and the ventilation is terrible. I walked out of the restaurant smelling like karaage. And due to the size of the restaurant (ie. tiny), tables are set close together so be prepared for your neighbours to overhear your conversations. Having said that, I enjoyed the food and would return. It gets busy so you should probably book especially for a large group.
I’ll just get straight into the food. Hm… Waiting time ~30min for our first entree of just two oysters (if u think I’m stingy for ordering two; I really wanted 4 but she misheard me). Then we ordered the sushi and sashimi deluxe – assorted nigiri was delightful, sashimi was nothing notable. Waiter choked on her spiel about where the fish came from but it was kinda cute to see her persist and come back and finish it off. Then we ordered the spider roll – ok, all rolls are hella tiny which could have only fed me but I had to share with my bf and we just both looked at each other and was like yeh nah let’s not kid ourselves, we getting another aye. So then we ordered the ocean roll which is just a fancy salmon avo with grilled salmon on top. OK, their rolls are fresh af and would def come back to try other things instead. Rice was soft and moist, how I like it on my sushi. Because I like wasabi (like ALOT), my wasabi heat rating for them is 3/5. Place to go for a cute date or something. Solid effort guys.
I went to Zushi for lunch. The staff were pleasant but took a long time to take my order once seated. The food wasn’t really worth the (I thought) rather inflated lunch pricing, as it needed a bit of seasoning to really bring it to life.It wasn’t horrific, but given the glut of restaurants in the area, I’ll likely try other places next time.
Nice staff but the food is expensive but the quality is alright. Has the sashimi taco which I didn’t like. The lemon sorbet made it very strange and it was messy to eat with the crisps. The sashimi was pretty good. I thought the salmon and tuna tasted good. Would not go back. Rather spend my money somewhere else.
Went there without a reservation around 6pm on a Saturday, although there were plenty of tables available we got offered a table upstairs in the corner just behind the stairs, the warmest spot in the restaurant.Although the food looked amazing, but the heat was so unbearable that we didnt get to enjoy the food much and had to rush out just to get some fresh air. Staff were professional. My suggestion is to book a table if you want to enjoy the food and atmosphere.
