Lovely cafe. I loved the seats. My son had ham n cheese croissant with coke. He really enjoyed it. I had hazelnut chocolate brownie with a cappuccino. Which was delicious. The cappuccino was a bit hot but thats how I like it. It was creamy and frothy the gentleman was lovely
Haven’t been to this cafe for a while and after today’s visit, we won’t be back. It seems to have changed hands as the menu was completely different and the standard of food much lower than when we last visited. For breakfast, I ordered the sweet potato cake with smoked salmon. Quite pricey at $19 given what was served up. The potato cake was burnt (see photo). My sister ordered raisin toast which was thinly sliced; just a supermarket brand. A rip off at $7.We both ordered pots of tea. There were too many tea leaves in the pot so it was overbrewed, bitter & too strong. When I requested a pot of hot water to dilute it, I was told I’d be charged for it. Given I had already spent $30 on breakfast, I thought this was rather mean. After much deliberation, the manager decided to give me a pot without charge. There was hardly anyone at the cafe (now we know why!) so it wasn’t like they were overrun with tea drinkers and needed all available pots. This isn’t the way to win repeat customers.I go to a lot of cafes in the Inner West. This place will not survive if this is the service and quality of food that is served up. A very disappointing experience! We won’t be returning.
It’s a huge pity that the venue gets wasted by lack of taste in interior and worse the food offered. We went for the sparkling high tea and experienced a few downs.1. Tea cup was dirty and got changed twice2. Scone bottom was soggy because the plate was wet.3. Extremely sweet macaroons. Same sweetness with other desserts. We left most dessert untouched.4. Creme brulee had burn taste and the top was soft.5. The sandwiches are worse than the ones you get at normal cafe. Had to agree with other reviewers that it’s more than just a disappointment.
Venue is great: The parklands provide beautiful surrounds.Service is mediocre: You line up to order and pay, receive a buzzer, and collect the food yourself. So pretty much self service – the only thing you don’t do is the cooking, and the washing up.Value is terrible: $15 for a pretty small wrap with a (small) handful of fries. Pathetic.
Extremely slow service and mediocre food. Too expensive for the quality of food provided… order thai beef salad, which was fried beef, capsicum and crunchy noodles. Tasted bland and barely a salad or worth an hour wait.
Went there for high tea, sadly the both the savory and sweet dishes were stale, most of the sweets were barely edible. We left with most of the food still on our plates 🙁
The map shows the wrong place – it says bicenntialnpark home bush which it is, but the map shows RYDE aquatic centre RYDE.
